First Post!
I've been thinking about starting a blog for awhile now, but only just decided to make this one about 5 minutes ago, so I'm doubtful this will be a witty, or even coherent, first post. I've yet to decide exactly what my focus will be, although I have an idea of what this blog will not be about. I have this idea that every almost mom/new mom starts a fashion/parenting/DIY crafty/food blog. Since I'm skilled or knowledgeable about none of those things, this isn't what this blog is going to be about! So get ready for something (slightly) different. Instead, I'm thinking more my inner thoughts, worries, opinions about what's happening in my life (which of note includes being pregnant with my first offspring), scathing reviews about TV shows and movies (JJ Abrams! *fist shakes*) and political/social commentary that will be far too opinionated for someone who hasn't experienced pretty much any real strife outside of middle-class white person ennui. Will I have followers? Doubtful. Do I care? Actually, I'm terrified people will read this. I'm far from a professional writer. I'm pretty far from amateur writer too. So unfortunately some of this will be an exercise in finding my voice and basic things like increasing my vocabulary and sentence structure! But gotta start somewhere. Really, all of this is just for me. I certainly have no wisdom in impart. Or skills. Or tips of any kind. But what I can offer is a perspective. My perspective. Which will be frustrating to many, including myself, since my opinions tend to change rather abruptly sometimes, or just be contradictory since I have a tendency to see both sides to issues and subsequently take both. The two biggest reasons I'm writing are to have a history of what's happened and to work out my own feelings. I tend to have a terrible memory for details (but excellent recall of how I felt during specific times) and having a record of events will help me remember. Writing also helps me work out my own thoughts and find the inconsistencies in my thinking or calls me out on my own bullshit. So there you have it.
